In Hout Bay pollution – solid waste, contaminated wastewater discharged via storm water pipes and spills from blocked sewerage pump stations – have resulted in serious water quality problems.

Pollution in our rivers pose a risk to human health and result in loss of biodiversity sensitive to pollution.

Solid waste, as well as road and household runoff enter the Hout Bay River through the storm water management system.
