Invasive plants and animals pose a threat to the biodiversity of the Rivers of Hout Bay and cost millions of rands to remove.
In Hout Bay, some tributaries have been canalised and storm water runoff is directed into the rivers to the detriment of the rivers’ ecology.
Riperian landowners have a responsibility to stay within the law of water usage permitted.
